A formal dedication to the life, teachings, discipline, and enduring legacy of a martial arts teacher whose influence continues through those who preserve and practice the tradition.
The Ryukyu Shorinji-Ryu Karate Association was
established with a singular purpose: to preserve,
promote, and carry forward the teachings,
principles, and legacy of Grandmaster Kenneth H.
Balliet.
Through this association, we seek to honor his
lifelong dedication to the martial arts and to
ensure that the principles he imparted continue
to guide future generations of practitioners.
A Dedication of Tradition
We humbly dedicate the Ryukyu Shorinji-Ryu Karate Association and the continued practice of Ryukyu Shorinji-Ryu Karate-Jutsu to the life, teachings, and enduring legacy of Grandmaster Kenneth H. Balliet.
Through his wisdom, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the martial arts, he influenced generations of practitioners and emphasized the development of character alongside technical skill.
Beyond Technique
Grandmaster Balliet's teachings extended beyond physical technique. His instruction emphasized respect, perseverance, humility, responsibility, discipline, and lifelong personal growth.
The practice of martial arts was presented not simply as the acquisition of physical skills, but as a continuing process of self-development, study, and personal responsibility.
Preserving What Was Entrusted to Us
The creation of this association stands as a testament to the profound impact Grandmaster Balliet had on the lives of his students and on those who were privileged to study within his martial arts tradition.
It is our responsibility to preserve the traditions he valued, uphold the standards expected of his students, and continue teaching the principles that he believed were essential to both martial arts and life.
Preservation requires more than remembering the past. It requires continued training, responsible instruction, careful study, and the transmission of knowledge to future generations.
A Living Legacy
Though Grandmaster Balliet is no longer with us, his influence continues through the students he taught and the practitioners who continue to study the traditions he dedicated his life to preserving.
His legacy can be found in the continued practice of kata, the transmission of technical knowledge, the discipline of regular training, and the values carried forward by those who were influenced by his instruction.
Continuing Commitment
With the deepest gratitude, respect, and admiration, we pledge to carry forward the knowledge, values, and ideals entrusted to us through Grandmaster Kenneth H. Balliet.
Through our dedication to Ryukyu Shorinji-Ryu Karate-Jutsu, we seek to honor his memory, preserve the traditions he taught, and responsibly transmit them to future generations.
The journey continues through every student who enters the dojo, every instructor who accepts the responsibility to teach, and every practitioner who commits to the lifelong pursuit of knowledge, discipline, and personal growth.
